Alternate Title: Trapped in the Magical Forest
"What's that? World of Illusion? You mean there's more than a "Castle" of Illusion?
Well to those who may not be aware of it, yes, Castle of Illusion isn't the only Sega Side-Scroller with Mickey Mouse in it.
World of Illusion is a spiritual sequel to Castle of Illusion, and it's probably the most original entry in the "Illusion" series. Whereas Castle of Illusion and it's 8-Bit Only Sequels, Land of Illusion & Legend of Illusion, played very much similarly to one another, World of Illusion (made a good 2 years after CoI, and 1 year after the debut of Sonic the Hedgehog) was a completely different entry.
In World of Illusion, instead of relying on a butt-bounce/soap-throwing ability, the player was now armed with a magical cape that can effect assaulting enemies, and could learn new spells along the way to effect gameplay. Also, it's the only game in the Illusion series whereas Mickey wasn't the only Playable Character. WoI is infact a co-op game that also featured Donald Duck (possibly a nod to Quackshot, a Genesis game featuring Donald released around the same time as CoI), and you were given the option to play as Mickey, Donald, or both if you had a friend handy.
Not much else to say but, enjoy the remix.
